First impressions: Checks for malware in installation step without your permission. Cannot pass Acid 3 test as Microsft announced earlier the opposite. YouTube like sites (most of them) renders weird & slow. Strange behaviours on some curicial services like Gmail (even with their Live Hotmail). Google Maps, Calendar: Brrrghhh ????(Try yourself). Wordpress’s admin side “menage” tab renders horrible. Security dialogs look like Vista’s. Speed: Don’t ask, slower than IE 7. Verdict: Horrible beginning. Firefox 3 is way better, Konqueror & of course Opera…

Digg’de patlayan dedikodu ile daha Mozilla tarafından duyurulmadan, Mozilla’nın FTP sunucularına akını başlatan, sahte kopyaları ortalıkta dolaşan Firefox 3 Beta 1 nihayetinde yayımlandı.
Firefox 3′ün getirdiği en önemli yenilikler ise; Gecko 1.9 rendering engine, web sitelerinin güvenlik kontrolü, animasyonlu png desteği, indirme yöneticisinde antivirüs desteği, bookmark saklama tarzı yepyeni (xml dosyalarında saklanıyor artık bu sebeple arama yapmak çok daha kolaylaşıyor).
Benim gözüme çarpanlar ise; indirme yöneticisinde yarım kalan indirmelere devam edilebiliyor (bu sanırım Türkiye şartları için oldukça önemli bir gelişme), hafıza kullanımı oldukça ehlileşmiş gibi duruyor (en çok şikayet edilen husustu bu).
