Olan Biten #12: Hollandaca & James Watson
Published on February 13th, 2008.
Irk ve bilişsel düzey ilişkisi dahilinde zencilerden bahsederken yakalanmış: (Tırnak içindeki sözler James D. Watson’a aittir.)
Yazardan Alıntı:
He is “inherently gloomy about the prospect of Africa” because “all our social policies are based on the fact that their intelligence is the same as ours – whereas all the testing says not really”, and I know that this “hot potato” is going to be difficult to address. His hope is that everyone is equal, but he counters that “people who have to deal with black employees find this not true.”
Alıntının Tercümesi:
Kendisi “Afrika hakkında kalben bir umutsuzluk” taşıyor çünkü “bütün toplumsal anlayış O‘nların bilişsel düzeyinin bizimkiyle aynı olduğunu söylese de yapılan testler böyle olmadığını söylüyor” ve biliyorum ki bu durumun muhatabını ortaya koymak zor olacaktır. O’nun umudu herkesin eşit olmasıdır fakat buna “zenci çalışanlarla iş yapmak zorunda kalanlar, bu eşitliğin doğru olmadığına inanıyorlar” diyerek karşı çıkıyor.
ve çok daha fazlası burada mevcut. Akıllara zarar! Dağlara, taşlara!

Podcast #17: Pornophonique - Sad Robot
Published on February 11th, 2008.
Today’s Jamendo pick comes from Pornophonique of Germany.
Their song “Sad Robot” comes from “8-bit lagerfeuer” album which was debuted in Sept. ‘07.
Kinda weird music supported by 8 bit video game sounds. First of all when set up your player and hit the play button Pornophonique sounds a little bit stranger. After 2 to 3 minutes you’ll begin to get used with them. Perfect fit! Look at their tags: “electro, rock, 8bit, pop, game, gameboy, videogame, acoustic guitar, fun” again perfect fit. Whole album is worth to listen…

Articles #1: Development of a MATLAB based bioprocess simulation tool
Published on February 11th, 2008.
People who started to develop a mathematical model for bioprocesses should probably faced with MATLAB for simulation. Here is nice example to help your effort to develop your simulation tool.
B. Sevella, G. Bertalan. Development of a MATLAB Based Bioprocess Simulation Tool, Bioprocess Engineering 23 (2000) 621-626 [Springer Link]
About Authors: Department of Agricultural Chemical Technology, TU Budapest H-1521 Szt. Gellért tér 4. Budapest Hungary
Abstract:
A simple user friendly mathematical modelling tool was developed on the basis of MATLAB software. The program system provides the possibility of solving differential equation system with the aid of an easy-to-use graphical surface. It is suitable for bioprocess engineering simulations to describe the dynamic behaviour of a great series of various enzyme, fermentation and environmental bioreaction systems. It is especially beneficial that nontime interventions can also be modelled and graphical representations can be realized on a wide palette.
